Tafakkur is a scientific research, training, and educational development institution founded in 2008 in Jordan. It strives to build the creative moral individual capable of building civilisation and achieving renaissance, and to prepare the educational environments necessary to achieve that.

Tafakkur Publishers offers more than 60 publications designed to support children and youth in building their character so they grow to become thoughtful and creative individuals who feel their true worth, live with balance, are faithful and loving of Allah, and embody positivity and strong moral character. All publications are grounded in the latest brain research and educational theories.

A number of publications are subject to the classification of the Arabi 21 project.

The Arab Thought Foundation

Arabi 21

The Arab Thought Foundation is an independent international non-governmental organisation having no association with regimes and no political, party or sect or religious affiliations whatsoever. Since its establishment in the year 2000 by His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, with the support and competencies of a group of intellectuals, investors and businessmen who believed in the message and principles of enlightenment, the Foundation committed to instilling pride in the traditions, principles and values of the nation by promoting responsible freedom, reinforcing Arab solidarity and strengthening the unifying Arab identity, while preserving the wealth diversity and plurality.

In its contributions to intellectual and cultural efforts, ATF has adopted an approach based on fostering partnerships and cooperation with complementing relevant organisations, institutions, think tanks and research centers.

ATF has sought to spread knowledge, encourage creativity and innovation, develop structures and mentalities and achieve the objectives of comprehensive and sustainable development, through its various programs, projects, conferences, awards, forums, seminars, books, reports, and other publications.

Arabi 21 Program

Description

The Arab Thought Foundation paid special attention to the educational sector, its reform workshop, and the process of its development, which was mainly evident in its project ‘Arabi 21’. Arabi 21 aims primarily to contribute to the development of Arabic language learning tools, to meet the needs of individuals and Arab society in the twenty-first century.

Vision

Arabi 21 vision lies in the formation of an Arabic person who can think in Arabic, and communicate with it to learn, work, live and maintain its identity.

Activities

Arabi main activities include:

  • Designing an early reading assessment tool in Arabic; ‘Mukabis’
  • Arabi 21 Electronic Directory of Classified Books

Objectives

  1. Organise several educational conferences aiming at promoting the use of the Arabic language
  2. Produce and publish a free e-book on methods of teaching Arabic language and organising professional development programs for those involved in its education
  3. Design a test based on global standards to test Arabic students’ capabilities in Arabic language
  4. Launch several initiatives to encourage children and young people to read and write in Arabic
  5. Organise a Prize for the best children and youth books under the name of ‘Kitabi Award’
  6. Suggest and adopt appropriate standards relating to:
    • The Arabic Language Curriculum
    • The Learning of Children Arabic Books
  7. Urge the largest number of Arabic and international publishing houses to use Hamada Taha and Arabi 21 booking tool to classify their published children’s literature
  8. Establish a website that includes an electronic guide to children’s books classified by reading levels and internationally approved classification standards, where the user can read book summaries and select appropriate ones
